Saul Pasque Memorial

January 14, 2010

Riders and families from Geelong to Port Fairy and all points in between gathered to celebrate a life cut short. Saul Pasque of Camperdown was killed while training at Ceres near Geelong on January 18 2005 aged 31 so a memorial ride in his name has been conducted annually to honor his memory.

Saul was a popular young man about Geelong where he spent considerable it seems lured by the considerable charms of our own Felicity Wilson, quite understandable.

GCC is rarely privileged to have a Mentor such as "The Ken" to light our way in the socially fraught world of "Bunch Riding". The following may help you avoid some of the pitfalls.

Despite the underwhelming response to my first "Blog" I will persist. The following report was available within the Ross Bush Memorial Race Report but may have been missed so here it is again.

Background.

Saturday September 6, 2009 marked the eleventh running of “The Bushy” to mark the training death of talented, respected and much loved cyclist and triathlete Ross Bush in 1998. This race is far and away Geelong Cycling Club’s biggest event with fields of ninety riders common.

Greetings All,

Thanks to Geelong Cycling Glub Web Master, Simon I have graduated to the world of the "Blog" and let me tell you I am barely able to type with excitement. This is an astute move by Simon as I now have a place to air my world view independent of him.

Simon has struggled with the various contributions I have made to the Web Site, understandably as he no doubt felt the need to distance himself from the thoughts expressed.  Clearly this is why Simon is "The Web" Master.
