26 riders braved the tough ascent of Benwerrin from Deans Marsh in the club inaugural hill climb TT. As the car indicated the course was 12.3 km that climbed to a maximum of 427metres above sea level. Local coach and cycling stalwart Donna Rae-Szalinski also had a training camp in town for the girl in the National Talent ID squad so it was great to see a number of girls racing as well.
Conditions ended up being perfect with a slight tail wind and no rain. (At least until we had finished). Some very slick time where posted with the top three in both the men and women only separated by less then 19 seconds.
As the last rider crossed the line the heavens opened which made the descent back to Deans Marsh less than enjoyable.
All in all and good enjoyable day was had by all. Thanks to the Marshalls, Donna and the girls for coming down and Simon for some great snaps.
