Geelong Cycling Club is undertaking several exciting new initiatives with various local groups in the area of junior cycling.

“We are in the process of establishing a junior development program and looking at developing a hybrid bike for juniors. We are working with a local bike shop putting together a universal sports bike based on a BMX, allowing the rider to change the drive mechanism. This will help reduce a parent’s expense because the one bike can be used for the road or track. Children can also use it as an everyday bike – it would be multi-purpose.”

The concept is under development with the support of local business interests and Cycling Victoria. Geelong Cycling club also provides a safe off road environment at the Geelong Criterium Track and also the West Geelong Velodrome for cyclists to learn and develop their cycling skills.
