Track Racing Results 18 Nov 2009
This week saw a good nights racing for our dedicated track riders.
How it happened...
The Juniors set the standard after a close battle between Jack Quibell and Tane Rabbas from the first race with Jack snatching the sprint from Tane and Rylan Bird just off the pace. The seniors first race also came down to a close sprint with Oliver King outlasting Brad Young and the "Premature Accelerator" Steve Young to get the result.
Race two saw the Junior and Senior Handicaps taking place, The juniors another close battle with Tane getting the sprint this time over Jack and Rylan bringing in third.
The senior race showed that a revision in Handicaps is very much due with the out markers staying well clear of the fancied runners, Paul Hughes taking the result over Chris Gillespie and Steve Del Gallo getting across the line for third.
Race Three saw a battle against the clock and the usual stiff finish straight wind with a one lap TT from the new starting gate. Tane Rabbas took the win in the Juniors with a scorching time of 41.60s over Jack and Rylan. The seniors saw Brad Young set an early ripper of a time of 35.27s that was standing through the major contenders until the last - The Old Man Steve - who blew everyone away with a 34.66s. Next best for third was Steve Del Gallo in 38.25s.
The final race of the night had the juniors hitting a Flying 200m with Jack setting a 17.56s and Rylan 19.89s. Unfortunately for Tane a mechanical ended his evening early.
The Seniors finished with an elimination race that came down to the two Steve's battling for the last sprint, Young prevailing over Del Gallo and Oliver King taking Third.
